The One That Started It All - Waconia Township
The Beginning of a Beautiful Addiction
Sometime in my middle childhood, I learned about HGTV and the concept of DIY home projects. Ironically enough, I’d grown up in a household full of projects, with which my siblings and I were dutifully helping my parents here and there as needed. I grew up watching my dad build custom cabinets for the kitchen, helping to install new hardwood flooring over one 4th of July weekend, learning how to paint from my mom as she changed the aesthetics room by room.
By the time I was in middle school, one of my favorite hobbies was drawing up ideas for house plans. Yep, on graph paper, using a ruler and everything. I realize that my efforts were purely creative and imaginative, but I look back at those days as the beginning of falling in love with houses. I learned so much about the different ways you could design a house, what you needed to include and consider when drawing one up, and all of this sparked the curiosity for learning how to build one later in life.
I’ve had so many areas of interest over the course of my life, including but not limited to the arts, architecture, interior decorating, biology and the human sciences, nutrition and physical fitness, psychology and other methods of understanding humanity, and the concept of self improvement and personal growth. I’ve spent time learning creative lettering skills, how to use power tools, the practice and art of the real estate business, and basically anything that really has piqued my interest. All of this makes for the unique combination of humanness that I am, which I have learned, is yet to be defined. I fully believe I am here to discover a new way to live life; I am designed to forge a new pathway that has yet to be exemplified by anyone else.
